Big Fat Snare Drum Donut 18"

Product Description

The Donut 18'' from Big Fat Snare Drum is a dampener that sits directly on top of your batter head. It gives a muted, vintage-inspired tone without retuning or bringing out extra drums.

Function

The dampener is placed on top of your existing snare or tom head and lowers the fundamental pitch right away. The centre has a circular cutout that leaves the middle of the head free, so the snare's characteristic crack is kept while the rest of the head is dampened.

Construction

The material is a patented blend of rubber and plastic from the Big Fat Snare Drum series. A rubberised gasket gives weight, balance and stability while the dampener sits on the head, and a thumb grip lets you lift it on and off quickly between songs or drums.

Sound

The tone is medium heavy and muted, on both snare drums and toms, while keeping the feel of your own batter head. The result is a heavy, thudding tone with a vintage feel reminiscent of the 1970s, at the same time genuine, deep and warm.

Fits

The Donut 18'' works with several different hoop types, including Triple Flanged Hoops, Die Cast Hoops, Single Flanged, DW True Hoops, Stick Saver Hoops, Wood Hoops, S-Hoops and Vintage Hoops.
