The Vic Firth SBG is Benny Greb's signature stick – a 5B-based shaft with a medium taper and a shortened wood tear drop tip. Together they give a focused, clear cymbal sound and quick, lively rebound for players who rely on dynamics and detail.
The medium taper strikes a balance between the butt and tip, offering more flex and faster response than a short taper, without the back-heavy feel of a long one. The shortened tear drop tip has a small surface area, producing a lighter sound with clear definition rather than a big, dark tone.
The stick is made from hickory and finished with a lacquer coating for a stable, comfortable grip.
