The Power Disc Kick Pad from American manufacturer Danmar Percussion (model 210-S) is a self-adhesive hard disc you place on the batter head, right where the beater strikes. It sharpens the attack/click in your bass drum sound while protecting the head from wear at the impact point, extending its lifespan.

How it works

The pad is mounted directly on the batter head - the head the beater actually strikes, not the front (resonant) head. The hard disc gives the beater a firmer surface to hit, resulting in a clearer, sharper attack in your kick sound. At the same time, the pad takes the wear instead of the head, so you avoid holes and thinning at the impact spot.
