Sound and Construction

The amount of snare effect is controlled with an Allen screw on the underside of the cajon. Loosen it for more snare effect, tighten it for less – an easy way to dial in the sound you want. The vSNARE, with its two strings, gives the slap tone a crisp, snappy character.

The Cajon Damper Pad helps control the sustain of the bass tone. It also reduces disruptive mid-frequency overtones, tightening up the overall sound. Around the sound hole sits the Bass Projection Ring, a reinforcement that adds strength and depth to the bass tone – and doubles as a comfortable, rounded grip when carrying the cajon.

The shell is built from birch plywood: a 3 mm front panel, a 9 mm body and a 4 mm back panel. Dimensions are 47x30x29 cm.
