The Remo Ambassador X Coated is a reinforced take on the classic Ambassador head, built on the same foundation but with roughly 20% thicker material. You get a head that stands up to much harder playing before it gives out, without losing the rebound and feel drummers expect from the Ambassador line. Available in multiple sizes for snares, toms, and as a resonant head.

Construction and durability

The head shares the same single-ply construction as the original Ambassador (MPN AX-0114-00, product code AX-0106-00), but uses roughly 20% thicker film. That makes it noticeably more resistant to hard hits and wear over time – useful if you play hard, practice a lot, or are simply tired of replacing heads too often.

Tone and feel

The coated surface gives a warmer, slightly more controlled attack than a clear head. Despite the added thickness, the head keeps the rebound and response the Ambassador line is known for, making it a solid choice both as a batter head on snares and toms and as a resonant head where you want extra toughness.
