Ahead 5A Crossroads

Product Description

The Ahead 5A Crossroads is an aluminum drumstick with a replaceable, super-hard polyurethane cover, built to last far longer than a standard wood stick. It matches the size and feel of a 5A wood stick but delivers less shock to the hand, more rebound, and a more consistent grip thanks to the built-in Vibration Control System (VRS).

• Lasts 6 to 10 times longer than wood drumsticks
• 50% less shock through the stick than wood drumsticks
• 5% more rebound than wood drumsticks
• Replaceable covers, tips and rings. Replace the part, not the whole stick
• Nylon tip gives a brighter, more articulate sound
• Ergonomically tuned handles for a secure grip

Construction

The core is a high-precision aluminum alloy, which keeps weight and balance variation between sticks in the same model under 1%. The cover is made of super-hard polyurethane and protects both the stick and your gear on impact. The cover, tip and ring can be replaced separately, making the stick more cost-effective over time. The nylon tip (mini ball tip) is essentially unbreakable and produces a brighter, more defined attack than a wood tip.

Feel

The 5A Crossroads is light and fast, with a small round tip that gives a direct, distinct attack. The built-in Vibration Control System (VRS) reduces the vibration that would otherwise travel into the hand, which is most noticeable during long playing sessions.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want the feel of a wood stick without replacing the whole stick as often. Works across musical styles, with country music as an area where the model is especially popular.
