The Meinl African Djembe is a hand-crafted djembe made from solid, plantation-grown mahogany with a goat skin head and traditional rope tuning. Part of Meinl's Water Rhythm Series, it combines craftsmanship tradition with top-quality skins, ropes and woodwork. For players who want an authentic African hand drum with a warm, full sound.
The shell is genuinely hand-finished, and the rope tuning lets you adjust the head tension the traditional way. This XL size measures 12.75–13.75" in diameter and 25" in height, giving deep, powerful bass tones along with clear tones and slaps in the higher register.
The djembe is also available in Large (diameter 10.75–12.25", height 24") and Medium (diameter 9.25–10.25", height 20") sizes if you prefer a smaller, lighter drum.
