Product Description
Aerodrums is a virtual air drum kit - you play in mid-air, and a high-speed camera tracks every movement through your computer. The sound comes from a genuine drum sample library, so the feel and tone stay close to a real kit. It's ideal if you want to practice completely silently, wherever you live.

Sound and Build
Aerodrums is built around a Natural Drumkit Sample Library, giving you high-quality sound and a feel comparable to a real kit. The hi-hat can be opened and closed across 16 distinct levels, and a single drum can call on up to 58 different sound samples - dynamics that go well beyond what you'd expect from a camera-based system.
The software ships with many ready-made kits, but you can swap out individual pieces in your virtual set: there's a wide range of drums, cymbals, and percussion to choose from. You can also expand Aerodrums with your own samples and weave them into your kits.
Connectivity and Expansion
Aerodrums registers MIDI, which means you can trigger a MIDI-compatible sampler - for example a VST instrument like Toontrack Superior Drummer - and record your playing directly into a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).
New Version (MK II)
This version 2 of Aerodrums includes an improved camera compared to the previous version, for a smoother and more accurate playing experience.
Who It's For
Aerodrums suits drummers who want to practice while others are sleeping, who don't have room for a physical kit, or who want a flexible tool for recording and MIDI production. It's not meant to fully replace an acoustic kit in every situation, but as a silent practice and creative production tool it does the job very well.
