Meinl Percussion Add-On Conga 11" - Vintage Wine Barrel, Matte

Product Description

The Meinl Add-On Conga is a portable 11" Quinto conga built for players who want a real conga sound they can bring along to the street or a small, acoustic gig. A front soundport lifts volume and clarity out of the compact shell, and included mounts let you add a cymbal or small percussion right onto the drum.

This conga is built for spontaneous playing rather than the rehearsal room. The shell is built from two plies of Siam Oak (Hevea brasiliensis Muell.-Arg.), covered with selected buffalo hide and tuned with 8 mm tension hooks against 2 mm rounded hoops. The hardware is black powder-coated, giving a discreet look that matches the matte Vintage Wine Barrel finish.

Built to travel

The front soundport helps the conga project clearly even without amplification, which is exactly what you want when playing acoustically outdoors or on a new stage. At 27" tall, it's easy to carry and quick to set up.

Built for more percussion

The conga comes with a Z-shaped cymbal arm with mount and a straight percussion mount with a wood plate, so you can attach a cymbal or, for example, castanets directly to the drum. A tuning key is included for fine-tuning.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want real conga tone in a light, portable package. For the street musician, players on smaller acoustic stages, or as an add-on to a larger conga set at home.
