Aluminum is a very lightweight material compared to traditional bronze, which is a big part of why the Alu Bell produces such long, sustaining notes. Each Alu Bell is individually created using traditional sand-casting methods, so every bell has a rough surface. It's comparatively thick and has an unfinished look, but the tone remains sweet and musical rather than raw or harsh.
