The Aquarian Studio-X Clear 8" is a single-ply, 10 mil tom head with a thin internal dampening ring. The dampening is subtle but effective, removing much of the overtone content while keeping the drum's open sound and warmth intact. A great choice for studio recording and close miking.
The head is transparent (clear) and built on 10 mil film, giving a full base tone without becoming too lively in the mix. The thin internal dampening ring controls overtones without choking the tone, so you get a head that still sounds open but is easier to capture with a microphone.
