Evans Hydraulic Red is a two-ply oil-filled drum head with a red transparent film and small oil droplets between the plies, giving control and a short, fat sound. It's a good choice if you want a compact, punchy tom sound with 70s character without losing seriousness in the tone.
The film with the oil droplets makes Red Hydraulic feel slightly more open in the attack and gives it more energy than its sister heads Hydraulic Glass, Blue and Black. The tone is compressed and fat, delivering a clear thud sound even when tuned low (finger-tight).
The gold Evans logo carries 70s glitter and glamour, while the sound remains just as seriously deadly today as it was back then.
Sizes
Available in tom sizes from 6" to 20", and for bass drum in 20" and 22".
