Product Description
The Evans Hydraulic Blue is a two-ply, oil-filled tom head with a fat, compressed tone and plenty of body - even when tuned very low. The layer of oil trapped between the two plies naturally dampens overtones, giving a tight, controlled attack without sounding lifeless.
The two-ply construction with a thin oil film in between lets the head handle lower tunings without turning boomy or undefined. The result is a compact, focused tone with a punchy attack, ideal if you want a clear, controlled sound without a lot of ring. The blue finish also gives the drum a distinctive look on the kit.
At 8" this is a tom head, not intended for snare or bass drum use.
