The Dunnett Res-O-Tone is an 8" drum head made by Remo exclusively for Dunnett Classic Drums, based on the classic Ambassador Coated but produced entirely without coating. The result is a clean, open, unmuffled tone with the responsiveness of Ambassador, but with a different, familiar feel.

The head is made from a tympani film, a material normally used on orchestral timpani, giving it an exceptional tensioning range across the whole tonal register of your drum. It offers a softer stick response than a standard coated head, while the open construction delivers a bigger, airier tone.

Works well as a resonant head too

If you normally play coated heads on the batter side, for example when using brushes, using Res-O-Tone on the resonant side can still give you a bigger, more open tone thanks to the tympani material's properties rather than a surface coating.
