Product Description
The Evans Calftone 8" is a synthetic tom head that gives you the look and warm sound of a traditional calfskin head, combined with the reliability, fit and tonal range of a modern Evans 360 head. It can be used as either a batter or resonant head.
The head is made from 7 mil mylar blended with a unique material to achieve the warmth and clear tone of vintage skin heads, without the drawbacks of real calfskin, such as moisture sensitivity and unpredictable tuning. The result is a head that looks and sounds vintage while behaving as consistently as a modern synthetic head in everyday use.
Since Calftone can be used as both batter and resonant head, it's a good way to keep the same warm character on both sides of the drum if that's the tone you're after.
