8" Paiste 2002 Cup Chime Cymbal

Product Description

The Paiste 2002 Cup Chime is an 8" specialty cymbal from the classic 2002 series, one of the most recognized cymbal series in rock history. The cup-shaped design in CuSn8 alloy (what Paiste calls "2002 Bronze") gives a bright, clear and melodic tone with a long bell. A great addition if you want to bring a distinct, melodic voice to your cymbal setup.

The CuSn8 alloy, "2002 Bronze", is the foundation of the entire 2002 series' character. The Cup Chime has medium thickness and is built for music from medium-soft to loud volume, both live and in the studio: classic rock, blues, punk, hard rock, heavy metal and most modern metal styles, crossover, country rock, ska, rockabilly, funk, R&B, soul, gospel and a range of subgenres in between.

Sound and Character

• Brilliant, clear and warm tone with high energy level
• Strong, musical and very precise tone
• Powerful projection
• Medium thickness, suited for soft to medium loud volume
• Lively attack with a bright, ringing intensity
• Long bell (sustain)
• Full chick sound

The edge sound is distinct and singing, with the same clear, ringing character as the bell but slightly more open in the attack.

Who It's For

The Cup Chime suits players who want to add a distinct, melodic voice to their cymbal setup beyond the usual crash and ride cymbals. A voice of its own rather than a cymbal that simply blends in.
