The Ching Ring is a 6" ring fitted with jingles that you place directly on the cymbal to get a rivet-like sound. It works best on hi-hats and ride cymbals, and performs best when the cymbal sits horizontally. A simple way to broaden your sound without modifying or drilling holes in the cymbal.
Placed on a hi-hat, it gives a meatier sound with extra top end – a bit more shimmer and sustain in the comping sound, without having to swap cymbals or install permanent rivets. If you only want the effect for certain songs or sets, simply lift the ring off again.
