Sound Character

Craftsmanship

Byzance cymbals are made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional methods. Each cymbal is cast from B20 bronze (80% copper, 20% tin), heated, rolled and cooled according to a carefully tested process until the correct thickness is reached. The bell is then shaped before hand-hammering gives the cymbal its form and character. Series with a lathed surface, such as Traditional, are hand-lathed before being shipped to Germany for quality control, sorting and finishing. Such as laser logo, brilliant finish or sandblasting.
