The ProMark 5B FireGrain Rebound (R5BFG) is a heat-treated hickory drumstick built for durability and a solid, clear-attack sound. The long, tapered neck gives extra rebound, making it a great fit for dynamic playing where quick recovery matters.

Fire-hardened hickory, same feel

FireGrain is ProMark's own heat-treatment process. The hickory is hardened by flame, which increases durability and gives a more solid, clearer-attack sound. Despite the harder hickory, the sticks keep their original weight and balance, so the playing feel stays the same, without unwanted vibration.

Rebound Balance concept

The R5BFG is built on ProMark's Rebound Balance model: a long, tapering neck with the weight shifted toward the back. This gives extra rebound and a lighter playing feel, unlike the Forward Balance models, which have a shorter, thicker neck with more weight up front for added power and durability but less rebound.

Careful matching

Each pair is pitch-matched to within 6 Hz, roughly a 0.25 tone difference, which matters for even-sounding rolls. Pairs are also weight-matched to within 1.5 grams, a tolerance ProMark states is industry-leading.

Manufacturing and environment

ProMark owns its own sawmill, allowing it to sort out the best-suited pieces for stick-making right at the point of sawing, which helps ensure consistent, high quality. The sticks are made in the USA. For every tree cut down, ProMark plants five new ones.
