Product Description

The Promark 5B Rebound ActiveGrip is a hickory drumstick with a grip surface activated by heat and sweat – the warmer and wetter your hands get, the better you hold onto the stick. The Rebound Balance model has a long, tapering neck for extra rebound, making it a good fit for dynamic playing and fast technique.

Better grip exactly when you need it

Many drummers struggle to hold onto their sticks once their hands get sweaty, which can limit technique or, at worst, cause a stick to slip out of their hand. ActiveGrip solves this with a thin layer applied directly to the stick. Unlike gloves, grip tape or rubberized grips, it doesn't change the feel of the stick under normal conditions – the grip effect only kicks in when you actually need it, for example during the last set of a gig once stage lights have brought out the sweat. That lets you keep a relaxed grip throughout the show.

Rebound Balance – built for dynamic playing

This model has a long, 3" tapering neck that gives extra rebound, making it easy to play fast passages and a good choice if you want a lot of bounce in your technique. The 5B thickness gives a solid grip and good volume without being too heavy.

Industry-leading manufacturing tolerances

Promark Select Balance sticks are made to tight tolerances: weight matching within a pair is held to a maximum of 1.5 grams, and pitch matching to within a quarter tone step (about 6 Hz). Good pitch matching produces more even rolls, while weight matching means both sticks in a pair feel identical in your hands.

Own sawmill and environmental commitment

Promark controls the entire production chain, from its own sawmill to the finished stick. Through the Plant Preserv 5-1 program, five new trees are planted for every tree that's felled.

ActiveGrip is also available in the Select Balance family's Forward Balance model, which has a shorter neck (2.25") and a more front-heavy balance for extra power and durability. Who It's For

A good choice if you play live often or for long stretches and notice your grip suffering as you sweat. Best suited if you want a long, dynamic neck with plenty of rebound rather than a front-heavy, power-oriented stick.
