The 5B Extreme is a thicker, longer take on the classic 5B stick from Vic Firth's American Classic series. Compared to a standard 5B, it's half an inch longer and slightly heavier in diameter, giving you a chunkier grip and more muscle behind every hit without switching to a completely different model.
The stick is made from hickory, a wood that stands up well to hard hitting while still offering some flex in the hand. The tip is wood, which produces a fuller, warmer attack against cymbals compared to a nylon tip – most noticeable on hi-hats and rides.
