Promark 5A Rebound ActiveGrip are hickory drumsticks with a coating that's activated by heat and hand sweat – the warmer and sweatier your hands get, the better your grip. That makes them especially useful on stage, when hot lights and long sets can otherwise make it hard to keep hold of the stick.

Maximum grip exactly when you need it

Many drummers know the problem: grip gets worse the more you sweat, which limits your technique and, in the worst case, means the stick slips out of your hand. ActiveGrip is applied as a thin layer and doesn't change the feel of the stick the way gloves, grip tape or rubberized grips can. Instead, the grip kicks in exactly when you need it most – you can keep a relaxed hold and even technique through the last set of the gig, once the stage lights have brought out the last drops of sweat.

Rebound Balance – built for dynamic playing

This model follows the Rebound Balance (RB) concept, with a long, tapering 3" neck and extra rebound. That makes it well suited to dynamic playing where you want to make full use of the bounce off the head and cymbals. The shorter, front-heavy Forward Balance (FB) version, with a 2.25" neck, is available if you'd rather have more power and durability from the stick – worth knowing if you're unsure which balance suits your style.

Tight manufacturing tolerances

The sticks are made to Promark's Select Balance standard, which sets strict matching requirements: the weight difference within a pair is max 1.5 grams, and the pitch difference is limited to about a quarter tone (roughly 6 Hz). Good pitch matching helps give you even-sounding rolls and a pair that feels identical in the hand. Promark runs its own sawmill and controls the entire production chain, and follows a Plant Preserve 5-1 policy – for every tree cut down, five new ones are planted.
