The American Classic 5A Extreme Nylon is Vic Firth's slightly heavier take on the classic 5A model – the same familiar feel, but with extra length and thickness for players who want more heft in hand and in sound. Made from hickory with a nylon tip, it delivers a clear, bright attack on cymbals and hi-hats, while the hickory shaft keeps the rebound and flex players expect from a 5A.
Compared to a standard 5A Nylon, this model measures 16 1/2" (419.1 mm) in length and .567" (14.4 mm) in diameter – a touch longer and thicker, adding a bit more weight in the hand without feeling bulky. A good fit for players who already like the 5A but find the standard version a little too light or short.
