Product Description

The Paiste 2002 Cup Chime, 5", is a small effects cymbal from the legendary 2002 series that has defined the sound of rock since its launch in 1971. It delivers a bright, ping-rich tone with a long bell, ideal as an accent across rock and metal styles.

• CuSn8 alloy ("2002 Bronze")
• Medium thickness
• Suited for soft to medium loud music, live and in the studio
• Long bell with a full chick sound
• Lively, ping-rich attack

Sound Character

Paiste describes the sound as brilliant, clear, warm and strong, with a high energy level and powerful projection. The attack is lively with a pinging intensity, the bell rings for a long time, and the chick sound is full. It's built for soft to medium loud volume, while still cutting through the mix.

Applications

The 2002 Cup Chime works across most rock-related genres: classic rock, blues, punk, hard rock, heavy metal and most modern metal styles, crossover, country rock, ska, rockabilly, funk, R&B, soul and gospel. Suited for both live use and studio recording.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a small, distinct effects cymbal with a long bell and clear attack, rather than a full-size crash or splash.
