24" Istanbul Agop Traditional Dark Ride Cymbal

Product Description

The 24" Traditional Dark Ride from Istanbul Agop is a fully lathed ride cymbal from the Traditional Series, built for players who want a warm stick response and a darker, richer overall sound. It works well as a main ride in styles where overtone richness matters more than a sharp, isolated ping.

Traditional Series cymbals are completely lathed on top and bottom, producing rich and warm overtones and a highly musical presence. The series is available in weights ranging from paper thin to heavy, offering a wide array of choices to complement any style of music. This particular model, the Dark Ride, is voiced for a darker, more controlled wash with a warm stick response.

Sound Character

The full top-and-bottom lathing gives the cymbal a full overtone spread rather than a hard, short attack. Stick definition is warm and clear, while the wash underneath sits darker and more cohesive than a brighter ride.

Who It's For

A good ride for players who want the cymbal's own voice to blend into the music rather than cut through with a sharp, isolated ping. Suits jazz and fusion as well as more dynamic rock and pop settings where a darker tonal color is wanted.
