Product Description
The EMAD Heavyweight Clear is a powerful two-ply bass drum head from Evans, built from two plies of 10 mil film. It comes with Evans' award-winning EMAD muffling system, featuring interchangeable external muffle rings that let you change your tone instantly without touching the inside of the drum. A great option if you want several bass drum sounds without owning several heads.
Three tones, one head
The wide muffle ring gives you a fat, controlled "hammock sound" with short, focused attack – ideal for a tight, studio-friendly tone with minimal ring. Swap in the narrow ring for a slightly more open sound with a touch more resonance. For a classic, wide-open Bonham-style thump, simply play with no ring at all.
Fast tonal changes
Because the muffle rings sit on the outside of the head, you never have to take the drum apart to try a different sound. That makes the EMAD system useful both in the studio, where you're chasing the right tone for a specific track, and live, where you need to adapt quickly to the room.
