The Evans Calftone is the synthetic answer to the classic calfskin head. A 24" bass drum head that gives you the look and warm tone of vintage heads, combined with the reliability and fit of a modern Evans 360 head. A great choice if you want that nostalgic sound without the moisture and temperature sensitivity of natural skins.
The head is made from 12 mil mylar blended with a unique material to achieve the warmth and clarity traditionally associated with calfskin, while offering far greater stability across different environments. Calftone can be used as either a batter head or a resonant head, making it a flexible choice wherever on the bass drum you need it.
