24" Evans EMAD - Coated White

Product Description

The Evans EMAD Coated White is a single-ply, 24" bass drum head that puts muffling control right at the head itself, with no tape or loose felt strips needed. The included muffling rings let you go from open, natural tone to a tight, focused bass drum sound in seconds. Ideal if you want to vary your sound between songs or playing situations.

The head is built around a small built-in plastic ring where the two included muffling rings are placed. The narrow ring keeps the drum's natural tone while focusing it on the low end. The wide ring further hollows out the lower midrange for even more low-end focus. Play it with no ring at all and you get the classic "felt strip sound" many drummers recognize from older setups. Without having to tape anything on yourself.

Flexible tone on demand

Having two muffling options built in makes EMAD unusually versatile for a bass drum head. Many bass drum heads are locked to one tonal character, but here you can experiment and find the combination that suits your drum, your room, and your style best.

Who It's For

A good choice if you want a bass drum head that can be fine-tuned without extra accessories. From studio recording where you need full control, to live setups where you want to switch tonal character quickly between sets.
