Evans Calftone is the synthetic alternative to traditional calfskin heads. It gives you the same beautiful look and warm sound as a natural skin head, but with the reliability, fit and tonal range of a modern Evans 360 head.
The head is made from 12 mil mylar blended with a unique material to achieve the warmth and clear tone that calfskin heads are known for. Calftone can be used both as a batter head and as a resonant head, making it a flexible choice if you want vintage character without the drawbacks of vintage heads.
