Evans Resonant is a black single-ply front head for 22" bass drum, designed for the side that doesn't get struck by the beater. It has no built-in muffling and no port or vent hole, letting the shell resonate freely.
A single-ply resonant head is thinner and more responsive than a batter head, giving the bass drum an open, full sweep with more low-end resonance. Since the head has no port, you're free to decide whether and where to add a mic hole, or run it fully closed for maximum resonance and sustain.
