22" Meinl Artist Design Aric Improta, AD1 - Engraved Bronze

Product Description

The Meinl 22" Artist Design Cymbal Aric Improta Ride (AD1) is a limited-edition ride cymbal created together with drummer Aric Improta, featuring a unique engraved bronze surface. Only 100 pieces are made, making it both a collector's item and a fully playable cymbal with a complex, musical, rich sound.

The engraved design, called Arcwave, is described by Aric Improta himself: "I wanted to illustrate something that visually depicted what it feels like to be in a true state of flow. That feeling of intense focus with effortless action. With the unique opportunity to add a custom visual component to my kit, I wanted it to serve as a reminder of what the goal is when performing live, and also to act as a guiding point to focus on when practicing something challenging."

Sound and Feel

The cymbal is shaped using Computerized Hammering and finished with Pinpoint lathing, giving it a bright, high-pitched tone with medium sustain. Volume ranges from medium to loud, and the heavy weight gives it clear projection even at higher volumes. Its character is complex, musical and rich. Working well both as a ride and for more expansive textures.

Who It's For

Well suited for rock, pop, fusion, funk, R&B and studio work, for drummers who want a bright, articulate ride with extra character. And who'd like to own one of only 100 examples of this design.
