Product Description

The Evans Hydraulic Red is a two-ply oil head with a red, transparent film and small oil droplets between the plies. It gives you control and a short, full sound with an open attack – a bass drum head that sounds just as serious today as it did in the 70s, when the gold Evans logo was at its most iconic.

Every film in the Hydraulic series has its own character. Red Hydraulic feels a bit more open in the attack and carries more energy than its sister heads Hydraulic Glass, Blue and Black. The tone is compressed and fat, and the head delivers a clear thud even in a higher, fingerstyle-tuned setting – worth knowing if you want a brighter tuning without losing fullness.

Sound Character
