22" Paiste Color Sound 900 Ride Cymbal - Purple

Product Description

The Paiste Color Sound 900 Purple Ride is a 22" ride cymbal built on the same foundation as the rest of the Color Sound 900 series, but with a colored coating that gives it a slightly darker and more controlled sound. The cymbal is machine-made at its core and then hand-hammered, resulting in a warm, full, and dynamic sound that works equally well on stage and in the studio.

The alloy is CuSn20, and the cymbal has a medium heavy thickness, giving it a volume between medium low and loud. Clear enough for most musical contexts without being overpowering. The stick attack is clear and defined, while the overall character is warm and intense. The bell is long, offering rich overtones, and the chick sound is fairly well integrated into the overall sound rather than standing out sharply.

Sound Character

The combination of CuSn20 alloy, medium heavy thickness, and the hand-hammered surface gives this ride cymbal a warm, full base tone with good dynamics. From a controlled attack to a longer, richer bell sound.

Who It's For

A great ride cymbal for anyone who wants to stand out visually with a distinctive color on their setup, while still getting a sound that holds up across genres and settings, live and in the studio.
