EMAD is a versatile bass drum head built around a simple idea: swappable muffling rings that let you shape the tone without reaching for tape or felt strips.
It's a single-ply (1-ply) coated head in white, with a small built-in plastic ring that holds the included muffling rings in place. Two rings are included in delivery – a narrow one and a wide one – so you can dial in exactly the low-end focus you're after.
Fit the narrow ring and the head keeps its natural tone with added focus in the low end. Switch to the wide ring and the lower midrange gets scooped out further, tightening up the bottom end even more. Leave both rings off and you get the classic "felt strip" sound.
A solid choice if you want to adjust your bass drum tone for different rooms and situations – rehearsal space, studio or stage – without fiddling with tape and felt every time.
