The EMAD2 is an award-winning bass drum head built to tame unwanted overtones without losing the drum's natural character. It's a two-ply head with a built-in plastic channel where you place the included muffling rings yourself, giving you full control over how much of the midrange gets tamed.
With the narrow muffling ring in place, you keep the drum's natural tone while adding extra focus to the low end. Switch to the wide ring and it carves out more of the lower midrange for an even punchier bottom end. Play it with no ring at all and you get the classic "felt strip" sound.
The head comes with two muffling rings – one narrow and one wide – so you can experiment your way to your favourite sound without buying anything extra.
