The UV1 delivers a dynamic sound with a brilliant top end and a full low end that carries. Play softly and a little off-centre and expressive overtones come through with a clear identity; dig in harder and the tone rounds off into an attack closer to a two-ply head. That makes it just as rewarding for delicate passages as for hard, driving grooves.

Durable UV-cured surface

What really sets the UV1 apart is its patented UV-cured coating. Rather than being sprayed on and air-dried, the surface is cured with high-intensity ultraviolet light, giving an exceptionally even, fine-grained texture that lasts. No more flaking or worn-out coating – just a head that keeps its feel and tone long after ordinary single-ply heads have given up.

Tunable across the whole range

The Level 360 profile gives the head a perfect fit against the bearing edge and a wide, easy tuning range. Tuned low, the attack softens with plenty of bottom and projection; tuned higher, the sound becomes more focused with a firm, full core. The UV1 works as both a batter and a resonant head, making it easy to build a consistent sound around the whole bass drum.
