21" Zildjian Z Custom Mega Bell Ride - Brilliant

Product Description

The Zildjian Z Custom Mega Bell Ride 21" has an unusually large bell and a distinct, brilliant ping that cuts through even in dense, heavy mixes. It's built primarily for hard rock and metal, but it's more versatile than you'd expect.

Sound Character

The bell on this ride is oversized, giving it a clangy, almost bell-like sound with a clear, brilliant ping. It's the kind of attack that truly cuts through no matter what else is going on in the mix. That's why the model is very popular in extreme metal circles and other fast, heavy music where every hit needs to be heard. At the same time, it's more of an all-rounder than you might think, and is also used by country and dance bands who want a clear, defined ride attack.

Construction

The cymbal is cast from Zildjian's Secret Family B20 Alloy and has a Brilliant finish, which contributes to the clear, cutting sound. The manufacturer's own item number for the model is Z40121.

The Z Custom Series

Z Custom is penetrating and clear, but the 2024 relaunch has more body, opens up more easily and is significantly more dynamic than previous generations in the Z series. The series is built primarily for hard rock, everything from heavy metal to thrash, black and death metal, though individual models also work well in other styles depending on the sound you're after.

Who It's For

The Mega Bell Ride suits you who play hard and fast and want every hit to cut through the mix. But thanks to its clear, brilliant attack it works just as well if you play in a country or dance band and want a ride with a distinct character.
