20" Zildjian Z Custom Ride - Brilliant

Product Description

The Zildjian Z Custom Ride 20" is a ride cymbal made from B20 bronze (Zildjian's Secret Family B20 Alloy) with a Brilliant finish, built for hard rock and heavier styles. It delivers a clear, brilliant attack with a penetrating bell and distinct accent, and works well in other contexts where that character is wanted too.

Sound and Feel

The Z Custom line was reintroduced in 2024 with an updated character: more body, easier to open up, and significantly more dynamic than previous generations in the Z series, without losing the clear, penetrating attack the series is known for. The bell is penetrating with a distinct accent, making it easy to hear even in a dense mix.

Who It's For

Z Custom is built primarily for music in the heavier school. Everything from heavy metal and thrash to black and death metal. Thanks to its clear, brilliant attack, the cymbal also works in other styles where that same character is wanted, such as country or other genres that call for clear projection.

About Zildjian

Zildjian has been making cymbals in the USA since the early 1900s, with roots in Constantinople and the year 1623. The company was founded by the alchemist Avedis, whose unique alloy of copper, tin and silver turned out to have exceptional sound properties. Through collaboration with generations of drummers, including Gene Krupa, Zildjian has shaped many of the cymbal types we know today. Ride, crash, hi-hat and splash.
