20" Zildjian Z Custom Crash - Brilliant

Product Description

20" Zildjian Z Custom Crash in B20 bronze (Zildjian's Secret Family B20 Alloy) with a Brilliant finish, made in the USA. This crash is fast, explosive and cutting, with a sharp attack that still keeps body and dynamics. A cymbal built for hard rock and metal that still opens up nicely at lighter playing.

Sound and Feel

The Z Custom series was reintroduced in 2024 in a version with more body, an easier response and a significantly wider dynamic range than earlier generations in the Z series. The crash has a hard, aggressive attack but never turns unmusical. It opens up quickly even at soft strokes without choking when you dig in harder.

Playing Style

Z Custom is primarily built for music in the heavier school, from heavy metal and thrash to black metal and death metal. Its tonal character also makes it useful in other styles depending on the sound you're after.

Background

Zildjian was founded in Constantinople in 1623 and has made cymbals from the same bronze alloy across generations since the family moved production to Boston, USA, in the early 1900s.
