20" Meinl Pure Alloy Thin Ride - Traditional

Product Description

The Meinl Pure Alloy Thin Ride 20" (PA20TR) delivers a clean, articulate stick attack over a bright, controlled wash. Its thin weight makes it open up more easily than a medium ride, while retaining a nice built-in crash character. Made in Meinl's German factory using computer-controlled hammering for an even, Central European sound.

• Clean, articulate stick attack with a bright underlying wash
• Opens up nicely thanks to its thin weight
• Also works as a crash when hit harder
• Made with computer-controlled hammering for consistent tone
• Made in Germany from Pure Alloy

Sound and Feel

The character is described as complex, clear, musical, and articulate, with a medium-bright fundamental tone. Volume sits at medium to low, and sustain is medium to short, making the cymbal easy to control in a mix. Pitch sits in the high-to-mid range. Despite the bright tone, the ride has a woody attack surrounded by a bright, airy wash.

Who It's For

The Pure Alloy Thin Ride suits rock, pop, fusion, R&B, reggae, and studio work. For players who want a bright, controlled ride with clear stick definition. The series is also available in a 22" size for a bigger range.
