The Meinl Pure Alloy Extra Hammered Crash, 20", is a crash cymbal with a medium-thin weight and extensive hammering across the entire surface. It opens up easily with powerful warmth and attack, decaying with a medium to short sustain. A good choice if you want a full, musical crash with a dark, warm character.
The cymbal is manufactured at Meinl's German factory using computer-controlled hammering, a technique that gives it the controlled, even sound associated with Central European tone. The sound character is complex and full-bodied, with medium to low volume and a pitch in the high to mid range.
The Extra Hammered Crash is also available in 16" and 18", so you can build a matched set of crash cymbals in several sizes. Works well for rock, pop, fusion, R&B, reggae and studio use.
