20" Meinl Pure Alloy Custom Trash Crash - Smoked-Bronze/Brilliant
Meinl Pure Alloy Custom 20" Trash Crash with holes for fast attack, trashy sound and short sustain, great for quick accents.
Product Description
The Meinl Pure Alloy Custom 20" Trash Crash (PAC20TRC) is a holed crash cymbal with a lightning-fast attack and an explosive, trashy sound. The short sustain and a touch of china-style trashiness make it a great choice for fast, distinct accents in styles such as rock, pop, fusion, R&B and reggae.
The holes in the cymbal aren't just cosmetic, they're part of the construction. By removing material from the cymbal, sound travels faster through and away from the metal, creating the fast response and quick decay these cymbals are known for. The size, shape and placement of the holes also affect how trashy or dark the cymbal sounds.
Character
- Full body
- Musical character
- Fast response
- Shimmering top end
The cymbal is made in Germany from Pure Alloy, using computer-controlled hammering for a consistent, controlled result. The sound character sits in the medium-low range, with a low to mid pitch, medium sustain and medium to low volume.
Finish
The top has a beautiful Smoked-Bronze finish while the bottom has a Brilliant finish, giving the cymbal both a raw visual character and a polished contrast.
Who It's For
A good fit if you play rock, pop, fusion, R&B or reggae and want a crash cymbal with a short, trashy accent rather than a long, washy sound. Also works well in studio settings where precise, short accents are needed.
