20" Meinl Dual Trash China - Raw/Brilliant

Product Description

The Meinl Byzance Dual Trash China 20" is a hand-hammered china cymbal in B20 bronze (80% copper, 20% tin) with a raw bell and lathed Brilliant-finish edges. The slightly thinner edges give quick response even at soft playing, a balanced tone with an oriental touch, and plenty of crash effect.

• Quick response at both light and heavy playing
• Warm tone with low volume and full attack
• Plenty of crash effect with oriental character
• Also works for lighter ride playing on the unlathed surface
• Wide sound spectrum for multiple genres

Sound and playing feel

The cymbal is hand-hammered and hand-lathed on both the top and bottom. The raw finish at the center gives a rawer, more direct character, while the lathed Brilliant edges make the cymbal respond quickly even at lower volumes. The result is a balanced china with a warm tone, low volume and full attack. Great if you want crash effect with an oriental touch without it becoming too aggressive. The unlathed portion also works well for lighter ride playing.

Craftsmanship

The Byzance series is made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional handcraft methods. Each cymbal is cast from B20 bronze (80% copper, 20% tin), heated, rolled and cooled according to a carefully proven schedule before the bell is shaped and the cymbal is hand-hammered. The raw cymbals are then sent to Meinl's German factory for quality control, sorting and finishing, such as brilliant finish and sandblasting. The combination of Turkish craftsmanship and German quality control is behind the Byzance series' warm sound and consistent standard.

Who it's for

A wide sound spectrum makes this cymbal useful across genres. Jazz, funk, reggae, studio, world and electro. A great choice if you want a china with plenty of character that's still dynamically controllable.
