Product Description
The Evans Hydraulic Red is a two-ply bass drum head in a red transparent film with a thin oil film between the plies. The construction gives you control and a short, fat sound straight out of the box. Built for a 20" bass drum, it's a good choice if you want a fat, compressed attack without adding extra muffling.
Red Hydraulic is part of Evans' Hydraulic series alongside Hydraulic Glass, Blue and Black. Each film in the series has its own character, and Red Hydraulic feels somewhat more open in the attack with more energy in the tone than its sister heads. The sound is compressed and fat, delivering a distinct, saturated tone even when the drum is tuned relatively low.
The gold Evans logo is a clear nod to 70s glitter and glamour. The look is retro, but the sound is just as serious now as it was then.
The Hydraulic series is also available in other sizes: tom heads from 6" to 20", and bass drum heads in 20" and 22".
