20" Paiste Color Sound 900 Black Ride Cymbal - Black

Product Description

The Color Sound 900 Black Ride is a 20" ride cymbal from Paiste, built on the same foundation as the standard 900 series but finished in black. It is machine made in an initial stage and then hand-hammered, and the color coating gives it a slightly darker, more controlled sound than the standard 900 series. Suited for both live and studio use, across genres.

• Warm, full and dynamic sound
• Clear stick sound and a long bell
• Warm intensity in the tone
• Fairly integrated chick sound

Sound and Feel

The alloy is CuSn20, the same as the rest of Paiste's 900 series. The thickness is classed as medium heavy, giving the cymbal a volume ranging from medium-low to loud. The stick sound is clear, and the bell rings with a long, drawn-out tone. The color coating on the surface darkens the sound slightly compared to the uncoated 900 series and makes the overall sound more controlled.

Construction and Finish

The cymbal is machine made in a first stage and then hand-hammered, part of how the whole Color Sound 900 series is produced. The black color coating is what sets it apart sonically from the standard version in the 900 series.

Who It's For

A great ride cymbal if you want a warm, dynamic sound with a bit more control and darker nuance than an uncoated cymbal, while also standing out visually with a black surface. Works well in most musical contexts, both on stage and in the studio.
