20" Paiste Color Sound 900 Heavy Crash Cymbal - Black

Product Description

The Paiste Color Sound 900 Black Heavy Crash is a 20" cymbal from the Color Sound 900 series, based on a standard 900 cymbal finished with a black color coating. The sound is warm, full and dynamic, but slightly darker and more controlled than an uncoated 900 cymbal thanks to the coating. Works well both live and in the studio, across genres.

• Heavy weight for medium to loud volume
• Washy attack with lively intensity
• Integrated bell
• Machine-made in the first stage, hand-hammered in the final step

Sound and Character

The alloy is CuSn20, the same as the rest of the 900 series. The sound is described as warm, full and dynamic, with a washy attack and lively intensity. The black color coating gives the cymbal a slightly darker, more controlled character compared to an uncoated 900 cymbal, which can be useful if you want a bit more control over the crash's decay.

Construction

Like the rest of the 900 series, the base shape is machine-made, but the Color Sound 900 Black Heavy Crash is hand-hammered in the final step. The cymbal has an integrated bell and is classed as heavy in thickness, giving it a medium to loud volume.

Who It's For

A great crash if you want to stand out visually with a colored cymbal, while still staying close to the classic 900 series sound, just with a bit more darkness and control. Works in most musical contexts, both on stage and in the studio.
