Product Description

The 20" Byzance Vintage Crash is a hand-hammered crash cymbal with a dark, washy sound and warm character. It also works as a soft and washy ride cymbal.

Material And Manufacturing

The cymbal is cast in B20 alloy, 80 percent copper and 20 percent tin, a mix that gives it its warm sound character. It is hand-hammered and sandblasted, with hand-lathing on both the top and bottom. Manufacturing takes place in Turkey, while quality control and finishing are done in Germany.

Sound and Feel

The sound spectrum ranges from soft Lowfi tones to a heavier Blowfi character, and the tone is dark and washy with medium sustain and volume. The sandblasting softens the cymbal slightly and removes unwanted overtones, without losing the snap in the top end.

The 20" Byzance Vintage Crash fits together with the other Vintage crashes in sizes 16, 18 and 22, and works well across genres such as pop, rock, funk, drum and bass, fusion and jazz.
