20" Meinl Byzance Heavy Ride

Product Description

The Meinl Byzance Heavy Ride B20HR is a 20" ride cymbal in hand-hammered B20 alloy (80% copper, 20% tin) with a warm, full tone and great dynamic range. It suits players who want a harder attack with clear stick definition and plenty of volume, while still being able to shape the sound and volume through their touch.

Sound Character

The Byzance Traditional series delivers a warm sound character with medium sustain and volume. Its broad sound spectrum makes it versatile, working well across genres such as rock, pop, fusion and latin.

Craftsmanship and Finish

The cymbal has a traditional finish with a hand-lathed top and bottom. It is made at Meinl's Turkish factory using traditional craftsmanship methods: the alloy is cast, heated, rolled and cooled following a carefully tested schedule until the correct thickness is reached, before the bell is shaped and the cymbal is hand-hammered into form. It is then sent to Meinl's German factory for quality control, sorting and finishing. This combination of Turkish craftsmanship and German quality control and finishing is key to Byzance's warm sound and consistently high standard.

About the Byzance Series

Byzance is available in six variants. Traditional, Vintage, Jazz, Extra Dry, Dark and Brilliant. Each with its own sound characteristics and appearance depending on how the manufacturing process is tailored to that specific model.
