The Paiste 2002 19" Crash is one of the most iconic cymbals in rock history – a sound that has shaped generations of drummers since its introduction in 1971. It's still built on those original classic foundations and works just as well today across almost any setting that calls for power and clarity.

Sound and feel

The 2002 series is cast from CuSn8 alloy, commonly known as "2002 Bronze". The sound is described as brilliant, clear, warm and strong, with a high energy level and powerful projection that cuts through even at higher volumes. The attack is washy and the intensity lively, giving the cymbal a lively rather than stiff character. The bell is integrated into the cymbal, adding extra bite to the attack.

Construction

The cymbal is built with a medium thickness, giving a good balance between responsiveness and volume handling – designed to work from medium soft music all the way up to loud settings, both live and in the studio.

Uses
