18" Zildjian K Custom Dark Crash - Natural

Product Description

The 18" K Custom Dark Crash is a fast, dark crash cymbal from Zildjian with distinct clarity and a trashy overtone. It's made from Zildjian's Secret Family B20 Alloy and finished in Natural. A great all-round crash if you want a darker, slightly dirtier sound that still stays clean and controlled in the room.

It works especially well alongside cymbals from the A series if you want to broaden your sound palette with more colors to paint with.

Sound Character

The K Custom series has a dark, warm undertone with a big body, yet with a slightly brighter and more cutting-edge attack than many dark cymbals typically have. The hammering method Zildjian uses gives the series controlled overtones and a subtle trashiness that never takes over, helping create explosiveness with a fast decay. K Custom cuts through the mix well, while staying fast enough not to clutter the sound.

Who It's For

A great fit if you want a cymbal that works for almost everything, but prefer a darker tone over the brighter character of, for example, the A series.

About Zildjian

Zildjian was founded in 1623 by the alchemist Avedis in Constantinople, who accidentally discovered an alloy of copper, tin, and silver with unique sound qualities while trying to make gold. The formula was passed down through generations, and in 1908 a later Avedis moved production to Boston, USA. Through collaboration with drummers of the era, including Gene Krupa, Zildjian developed many of today's cymbal types. Ride, crash, hi-hat, and splash. The company's position as a world-leading cymbal maker still rests on that original alloy and four centuries of craftsmanship.
